Hanging Instructions

I use wall anchors & screws to hang all of Lynda's paintings. This allows for each panel to be perfectly level and the images there in to blend across the panels properly. There are a variety of types of anchors for all wall types. Some examples are plastic concrete anchors and threaded dry wall anchors. You can also check your local art or framers for a Hangman Picture Hanging Kit. The steps are quite simple and as follows:

1) Draw a horizontal "plumb line" to mark the point where your paintings will hang. This line will coincide with the edge of the inside bottom of the TOP edge of the frame.

2) Drill 2 holes for each panel along this line. The distance between the holes should be less than the inside width of one of the panels.

3) Insert the wall plugs/anchors into the wall and use a screw that is longer by at least 1cm so it sticks out from the wall. The panel will now sit on these two extended screws. You can use a bevel-headed screw to allow it to "tuck" under the beveled edge of the inside frame.

4) Repeat for the rest of the panels. You will also need to remember to allow for space between the panels. Most designs work well with 50mm or 100mm gaps, but this can be varied to suite the artwork design, size, or wall spacing as needed.

This method ensures each panel is level and won't tilt or need aligning and also allows you to be able to slightly "slide" the panels left or right to get the optimal spacing between each panel. In general, 50mm works really well.

Bunnings (or your local hardware store) will sell wall plugs/anchors that are suitable for your wall type.

You can use wire and hooks, but you will need to make sure that the wire is placed in the same spots on each panel, and all wires are tightened properly to prevent "sagging" where one panel ends up lower than the others.
